No Show Summer 2025

STATEMENT FROM SMTI'S EXECUTIVE TEAM

We are so sad to announce that SMTI is not going to be able to produce a musical this summer. We have tried to find solutions, but our executive team’s summer schedules just don’t align this year. We each—Parker, Campbell, Reinholtz, and Jen—have other community performing arts projects we volunteer our time for, and those endeavors are presenting some unavoidable conflicts for summer 2025.

If you have ever overseen a major part of a musical and/or have run your own theatre nonprofit, you will understand how hard it is to assemble a summer intensive team who can work all day, every day, for a month straight for no compensation. That kind of scheduling flexibility is hard enough to find when you have a wage to offer, let alone finding a team of amazingly talented, reliable, available people who will do it for free! So sadly, a summer musical is not in the cards for SMTI this year.

Our hearts are heavy not to be together this summer. We will miss our Mean Girls cast and crew so much but are looking forward to seeing your school shows this academic year. And most importantly, we can’t wait to see you all for the next show in Summer 2026!

Much love from your SMTI Exec Team,

Jason Parker, Connie Campbell, Tim Reinholtz, and Jen Lois
